In the spirit of remembering all the good times and appreciating the people that come and go in our lives, this post is both personal and professional
It was with great joy and a touch of looking back and reminiscing that we took our show on the road this past weekend to do a wedding at Vizcaya in the Coconut Grove district of Miami, Florida.
The beautiful backdrop of this once spectacular home of James Deering that was built between 1914 and 1922 sits directly on Biscayne Bay. It is truly one of the most romantic venues at which I have worked; there is a sense of time standing still as you look out across the gardens.
We had the great honor once again to assist our dear friend Susie Weiss in producing yet another memorable wedding with her as the wedding planner along side us.
Susie has been an integral part of our business as well as a gem of a woman and one of the most professional people I know in the wedding industry. This wedding was the closing act of this chapter of her business career, but alas not the final curtain I am sure.
As Bette Midler sang to Johnny Carson as his final guest on the Tonight Show:
“So thanks for the cheer, I hope you didn’t mind my bendin’ your ear… So make it one for my baby and one more for the road. That long, long road.”
Thanks, Susie, for the memories.
